What Are the Breast Expanders for Reconstruction Made out Of?

I have breast expanders in place with Allograft. What is the metal ports into the breast expanders made of. My oncologist wants me to have an MRI and I am having trouble getting any info from my plastic surgeon.

Your Tissue expander implants are made of a silicone shell and filled will saline.  If an integrated port tissue expander implant was utilized, then your have a filling port (chamber) that has a metal backing.  This metal port can be problematic with an MRI.    Perhaps a relatively quick implant exchange procedure may be warranted (where the tissue expander is removed and a "final" softer implant is placed) before you proceed with your MRI.
