Steroid Injections for Alopecia Areata can cause Cushing's Syndrome or "moon face"?

In the treatment of alopecia Areata we all know the injections should be done six weeks apart from each other. So how many sessions are recommended?? More than three are more risky??

Prolonged use of steroids can cause Cushings Syndrome, however it's unlikely that the dose you receive will cause this.  I suggest seeing a hair loss expert for an evaluation, go over treatment options and address your concerns. There are great non-invasive options like PRP/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

no , dose that used for alopecia areata treatments  does not cause cushing syndrome or moon face ...  it may happen in much higher doses and prolonged use

Any pro9longed use of steroids can produce Cushing disease/syndrome but the dose you should receive  should not be that high
