One of the first questions I asked was where would I need buttons. I was told on my side teeth but when they were put on they're on my front teeth. Also so they're not centered or anything and there are actually 2 on one of my top front teeth. I really hate they way look, is this how they're normally put on?
Answer: Invisalign Button Placement Hello and thank-you for asking about Invisalign. Every Invisalign patient is different with a custom made plan for your new clear plastic aligners made especially for you. If your clear plastic Invisalign aligners are comfortable and fit properly the buttons are most probably where they are supposed to be. Ask your dentist if there was a misunderstanding about button placement, which may have been altered before the final treatment plan came back from Invisalign.

Answer: Attachments/buttons can determine the success of your treatment It is often required to have some buttons placed on your front teeth for difficult tooth movements. Imagine trying to grab a bar of wet soap with your hand. It gets slippery. Without buttons, the aligners cannot effectively grab on teeth to create the desired and predictable tooth movements. It seems like you feel you were misled. The best thing to do is to speak to your doctor and ask how long does the buttons have to be on and can they be removed at some point during the treatment when the desired tooth movement is completed. Sometimes the tooth movement may be achieved before the entire treatment is completed and at that point it may be feasible to remove those buttons.

Answer: Buttons on front teeth Hi there, The location of the buttons are different for every patient depending on the movements that need to be made and which teeth need to be rotated. If your trays fit, it sounds like the buttons are in the right place for your plan and there may have been miscommunication with your dentist in the planning stage. They may have answered your question before the final treatment plan was back from Invisalign. I would talk with your dentist about this. Good luck!
