Dear 422905,as long as you get a clearance from your hematologist, you might be a candidate for a surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
I have operated on several people with thalassemia carrier status without incident. However, each patient needs to be evaluated thoroughly by a hematologist before a decision is made as reserve status will be different.
I would check with your primary care physician or hematologist. If they feel it is safe to undergo breast surgery, then its a go. Good luck!!
Dear 422,Hello and thank you for your excellent question. If you are otherwise healthy, and have been cleared for surgery by your primary care doctor, then you can safely have a breast augmentation. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure. If you have any questions, call our office for assistance. Good luck! Great question. The bottom line is that whether or not massage after breast augmentation provides benefits is still up for discussion, so it’s really up to your plastic surgeon to recommend it or not. So I would suggest sticking to his or her specific recovery guidelines, or inquiring as to w...
Implant sizing is very individual. There are alot of variables including the dimensions of your chest and also what the dimensions & profile of your chosen implants are. However, a 375cc implant is quite a reasonable volume & may indeed look quite big on your frame. If you are concerned ab...
