Why is there a pocket of fluid in the corner of my right eye? It's been one month (Photo)

Question

As I begin to look almorst normal, what's left is a pool of liquid, and one of those bumps. I'm not happy with the pool of liquid. It's ruining the entire look. Can that pool be aspirated?

Hello and thanks for posting your question.  Although the swelling and bruising may appear dramatic, you are still very early in the post operative heating period.  Both the swelling and bruising will improve in time, and it may take several weeks to resolve.  Communicate with your doctor and follow up with the post operative instructions.

That's blood that has migrated to the lower eyelids which is definitely more than normal but still ok. The only picture I see is the three days post-op one. If at 1 month you still have some fluid I recommend using warm compresseses on the area four times per day. Depending on how bad it is I will sometimes use a combination of prednisone and lasix(a diuretic) to help. Your primary care doctor would need to be consulted with this approach because of possible side effects of these medications. It looks like you could just drain the fluid with a needle but you can't because it is interspersed in the tissue. It can take up to 6 months for all of the swelling to resolve. Definitely follow up with your surgeon.
