I have questions about the Rf in Emsculpt Neo. With similar Rf technologies, the probes cover the entire treatment area. Emsculpt paddle seems to cover a smaller area. Will areas adjacent see fat loss? Care is taken in other technologies to not burn the patient by moving the applicator in other Rf technologies. Also, it is advised not to do these more than once every few weeks as skin needs time to heal. Why is it different for Emsculpt? Thanks in advance for answers.
Answer: RF The RF treatment does expand farther than the actual paddle size. The company has modified the RF treatment to avoid needing to move the paddle and avoid burns. The skin is not burned during the treatment, but will be warm, often wet from sweating, and a little red from heat for a short time after treatment.

Answer: Emsculpt NEO and Radiofrequency It is true that the Emsculpt NEO paddle does not move around during the procedure, and sits directly on the skin of the treatment area. However, the area adjacent to treatment will also yield results as well because the RF from the paddle with radiate out about 1-2 cm. The NEO is safe to use every 5-7 days as the RF treatment is monitored to not burn the area being treated while you are simultaneously getting muscle contraction and stimulation. For the Emsculpt NEO it is recommended to get 4 treatments, once weekly to see best results.

Answer: Combining radio frequency Radio frequency is a pretty poor modality for removing subcutaneous fat. It’s certainly not a good way to do it with good results. For almost everybody who has radio frequency for fat removal they basically don’t see any difference. If the device is highly effective and actually removes a significant amount of fat it will be in a distribution based on the device. I’ve seen this with cool sculpting when it actually worked remarkably well and left what looks like a cell phone imprint from the section device used during the treatment. If you want to remove subcutaneous fat you should consult with local board-certified plastic surgeons about Liposuction. If you want temporary muscle strengthening then you can try Emsculpt whether it has radio frequency or not. Combining me too is in my opinion that sales gimmick and debility to reduce subcutaneous fat is much more a theoretical concepts the one that actually delivers impressive results consistently. It’s simply is not the correct way if someone wants to actually get fat reduction with good aesthetic outcomes. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
