Coughing and capsular contracture. I started coughing really bad. Is this going to affect my implants later?

Hello, I had my BA done 5 days ago. I started coughing really bad because I guess I got a cold/flu like symptoms. I had 2 cough attacks where I cough so hard that I almost thdew up. My throat is so itchy and there is nothing. ... no flem.. just pure dry cough. I wanted to know if this is going affect my implants later? Thank you much for your time!

Thanks for the question. Sorry to hear you are having a tough recovery. The good news is that it is very unlikely to affect your results. Continue to follow up with your surgeon and let him/her know if there are any concerning changes.  Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear you're sick in addition to recovering from a breast augmentation!Coughing will probably contribute to your muscle soreness. It's possible that a bleed could develop if your blood pressure went up while coughing. That would be unlikely, but nonetheless you should be aware to be on the lookout for one side becoming larger than the other, which could indicate blood in the pocket, otherwise called a hematoma.Let your plastic surgeon know how you're doing and take any advice he/she gives you.Click on the link below to see a final breast augmentation result after all swelling is gone and the implants have settled.Feel better soon!
