I have many patients who have enjoyed the benefits of Fraxel on areas other than the face.  Popular areas include the neck, the backs of hands, the chest, the arms and even the legs.  It is important to understand that non facial areas usually take longer to heal so expect the recovery for the body to take two weeks compared to one week for the face.  Other post procedure considerations, like wearing loose fitting clothing to minimize irritation to the skin and avoiding sweating may also need to be considered when treating the body with Fraxel.

The Fraxel is a fabulous laser and works well on the face, chest, arms, neck, legs, and back.  I have done Fraxel on all different parts of the body with great results.  It can take 3 Fraxel treatments to remove the sun damage on the body.  If you have localized spots you might be better having the Alex-Trivantage Laser for these sun spots.  Best, Dr. Green

The Fraxel laser can be used on all parts of the body. Settings have to be lowered when off the face because there are less sebaceous glands but it can still be done. Tightening is better performed with radiofrequency. Large areas are treatable with Exilis or Venus Freeze. Smaller areas can be treated with Infini. The Fraxel becomes expensive when done on large surface areas because of the time needed and the usage of many tips.

Hello - Fraxel is a brand name and there are multiple different lasers that fall under this brand name. The Fraxel Dual laser may be used off the face and it is best to treat one area first and see how you respond - choose either chest or arms as legs can be more stubborn in response. Usually, multiple treatments are needed. Radiofrequency microneedling is an alternative option.
