Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
We have not had any issues with hyperpigmentation with dark skin and morpheus. Morpheus is suitable for all skin types
Hi and thanks for your question! You are correct in that people with darker skin tones need to use more caution when having treatments that apply energy to the skin.Darker skin tones can have Morpheus safely with a few precautions. You should pretreat your skin with Hydroquinone for at least 2 weeks prior to and after your treatment, to reduce the risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentationYour provider should also use lower energy settings to reduce this risk. With proper counseling, darker skin patients can also get all the benefits of Morpheus.Hope this helps!
Hi Danchi, Morpheus8 has different settings so the procedure can be started very conservatively, and if no hyperpigmentation results after first session the settings can be increased for subsequent treatments or left at original settings. Let me know if you have additional questions.
