I have composite bonding on my two front teeth because of a chip and discoloration, I get my braces off soon and I was wondering if the bonding will come off when they're scraping away at the glue and such because I don't want my teeth to look discolored.
Answer: Will bonding come off when I get my braces off? It may not come off completely, but highly likely that it might need to be redone.Rather than scratching or pulling the bracket off your tooth, your orthodontist can take a drill and actually drill the bracket off down to the cement he put his bracket on with. Then he can use a polisher, and if done very carefully, you may not need to have the bonding redone.

Answer: your composite bonding may fail............. Dear abari3600,see there are sometimes 90 % or more chances of your composite bonding coming off with the braces cement when the dentist will take off the braces, as the composite with which we fix the bracket to your tooth surface will stick to your build-up done on that tooth with composite too due to stress created to debond the bracket form your tooth surface the bonding will also come off.............. but that happens you can not say whether it will stay or will it come off..............if it will come off go for rebonding and this time do not get composite bonding instead go for COPONEERS --- there are composite veneers -- they are durable they are repairable and they are very cheap as to porcelain veneers............ do read about them and ask your dentist about them...........any questions feel free to ask me....regardsDr Amit

Answer: What happens to bonded teeth during or after orthodontics Almost all my patients young or old would love to whiten their teeth soon after their orthodontic treatment is completed. They have nice looking straight teeth and love to make them lighter in shade. Some have stained teeth because cleaning is difficult unless immaculate care in oral hygiene is given . In your case, if you think you are going to whiten your teeth, you'l end up replacing the boding to match your new shade anyway , so it does not matter what happens to them while they take the brackets off. However, if you are CERTAIN that you will not whiten your teeth, then make them aware or remind them about your bonding and hopefully they will do their utmost to preserve them.

Answer: Will your bonding come off when you get your braces off? It is definitely a possibility that your bonding comes off once they take your braces off your teeth. However, if your dentist is aware that your teeth have bonding then he/she can take extra precautions to ensure this does not happen, there are several techniques available to take braces off without harming your bonding. Also, you must have in mind that you will have to change the bonding anyway, since your resins might have changed color while you were wearing your braces.
