What is a realistic time frame for pinkness (crusting/redness gone) under eyes after a moderate intensity fractional CO2 laser treatment? I've read everything from 1 week to 6 months. That window is a bit wide and I am trying to decide when a good time to schedule my treatment for under eye crepiness would be depending on the healing factor/time. Besides Aquaphor and SPF what kinds of ointments do you prescribe to aid in healing? Thanks in advance.
Answer: Dark Circles/Eye Bags/Wrinkles -- Fillers Belotero, Volbella; Fraxel/Halo; emeragecosmetics ENLIGHTEN/AERIFY/COSMELAN co2 done aggressively takes 1 week to heal and 2-3 weeks for pink to go down. you need to AVOID aquaphor and use pre treatment peel (enlighten or aerify) and post treatment growth factors, stem cells, and proper skincare. if you use aquaphor and not the proper skincare and LED the redness will be much longer (see link). at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with or without fat pad repositioning will be the best long term. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles without surgery. Non invasive less downtime options such as fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP, cosmelan peels, and microneedling RF like Fractora or morpheus can all help give some improvement. Accutite can often be used or stronger lasers like erbium or co2 spot treatment can tighten the skin and give very quick improvement in wrinkles and texture. I suggest you get a formal consultation to see what is best for you and your goals. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Recovery from laser treatment under the eyes Recovery from a laser treatment under the eyes can vary significantly based on the amount of correction needed and the aggressiveness of the procedure. I work with more than 50 laser and light devices, often combining them in a proprietary treatment I call the Take 10. This technique offers very good improvement under the eyes, with about two weeks of recovery time. Results can be both dramatic and long-lasting when performed by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist with expertise in laser devices.

Answer: Recovery time after fractional CO2 laser under eyes CO2 laser treatment under the eyes can vary tremendously, based on how deep the treatment is done. Some people don't need aggressive treatment and others do. Each treatment is usually individualized to the patient. That is why the recovery time frame can vary so much. Essentially, the deeper the treatment, the longer the recovery and the greater potential for better results. I would say for a moderate intensity treatment, the recovery should not be more than a week or so. I normally do have patients use Aquaphor afterwards and no sun exposure to the area until the redness has resolved.
