It is common to see relaxation of the face and neck skin several months after a facelift.Depending on the quality of your skin, this relaxation can be minimal or sometimes alot.I often discuss with my patients laser resurfacing to improve the texture and increase the quality of the skin, and also procedures like Ultherapy that will help maintain a lift after surgery.  Ultherapy is a great maintenance treatment that has no downtime.Talk to your surgeon about options.

A combination approach would give the most improvement. Deep wrinkles and smile lines can be improved with a combination of Botox and/or fillers for the lines themselves and to build anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Ultherapy is a great skin tightening device, but works best in combination with other treatments like J Plasma, RF treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP, salt facials, Cosmelan for skin tightening and improve skin tone. You have a number of choices including laser such as the Sciton Skin Tyte or BBL platforms, Radiofrequency (internal such as ThermiRF injectable and external) and Ultrasound. A consultation of course is required for the best recommendation.

Best treatment? Depends.Much depends on the length of time since the procedure was performed.  Sometimes the skin will continue to tighten, even a year after the procedure. Nevertheless, skin laxity can be improved with a "tuck-up" procedure, or sometimes non-surgically with an Ultherapy treatment or a skin resurfacing procedure, such as a thorough fractional CO2 laser.The link below offers more information on Ultherapy.I hope this helps.

It is very common to feel like the skin has "relaxed" when the swelling has subsided shortly after facelift surgery. The postoperative edema and induration can stretch the skin and give a smoother appearance. Skin quality and elasticity varies between patients. Many factors, including genetics, age, nutrition, smoking, and sun exposure all play a part in this. Keep in mind that although you feel like the skin has somewhat relaxed, the underneath muscle tightening is still in place. You have also had loose skin permanently removed with your procedure, which is no longer contributing to the minor laxity that you see.

Tightening of the neck skin requires a direct approach to the neck. Options include the Precision Tx internal laser to improve the wringling, tighten the neck and reduce jowls. Liposuction of the submental region and jowls will tighten and smooth these areas. Botox or excision of Platysma muscle bands will improve subcutaneous banding. A neck lift will tighten neck skin; some patients are dissapointed due to recurrence of the fine wrinkles under the chin.Please consult in person with an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon prior to making treatment decisions.

It is a little bit too early to determine the final result after a lower facelift, however you do seem to have some jowling. To try and avoid a secondary surgical procedure perhaps you could try radio-frequency, initially we used Thermage but now INFINI. IT is probably best to wait, try the INFINI and if things don't work out, perhaps a secondary procedure at on year.
