I just had a breast reduction almost two weeks ago. My doctor did a good job but he’s not been very personable since surgery, and won’t really respond to my questions and brushes me off. I know bruising is to be expected, but my skin is turning black. It’s very hot and painful. When I called my doctor he didn’t ask to look at it, but told me it was normal. I just wanted some other opinions, I’m worried and not sure if I need to call a different doctor.
Answer: Healing problems following #breastreduction with #PlasticSurgery From your photo, it does appear that you are having problems with circulation to the skin at the 'T' junction area. You may loose some of this skin and you may be left with an open wound in the area. This needs to be monitored by your plastic surgeon and he needs to intervene as and when necessary. Hot and painful also suggests an infection and hence it is even more important that you see your plastic surgeon. I would insist that your plastic surgeon sees you and follows you up until it is all healed. You state that your plastic surgeon has done a good job, unfortunately a good job does not involve just doing an operation, it involves making sure that you get the proper after care that is needed and following you up until it is safe to discharge you from his / her care.

Answer: Why do I have black skin and blisters after breast reduction? This picture looks like some bruising that may turn into a scab but should heal in the end. However, it is hard to do a proper evaluation with =out being seen in person. Best to follow up with your surgeon.

Answer: Jekyll and Hyde personalities should be exposed if truly that... so your surgeon should be very accommodating of you and your needs as you heal from this procedure. If sweet to get you to sign up and then dismissive once surgery is over, you should let the world know on social media since they make our profession look bad. So before going this route, try to get your surgeon to appreciate your concerns and to answer your questions... and do mention how you are perceiving being treated differently once the procedure has been done. Good surgeons have bad days sometimes and you could have just experienced one of his/her bad days. As for what you have, some skin compromise but nothing that should impact your outcome in the long term.
