Nevi on the lip heal with minimal scar formation, usually. I would seek out a board certified dermatologist who can shave this for you. I don't see the nevus from your photo, so the final answer will come from the doctor you visit.
Hi there and thanks for your question! Moles are pesky and often people are told love your mole or choose to have a scar! There are other great alternatives to surgical excision though that leave virtually no scarring at all! My preferred method of removing miles such as yours utilizes radifrequency ablation. The Ehlmam radiofrequency device allows me to essentially take the mole down a layer at a time to the level of the skin and then allow the skin to naturally heal in this area with normal pigmentation! This is only possible by staying with in certain levels of the skin known as the dermis. If you stay to superficial the mole doesn't go away if you go to deep scarring can occur. This is a somewhat artistic approach but it leaves absolutely wonderful Arsthetic result. Thanks again for your question and best wishes in pursuing your care!Dr G
Typically, the scar after mole removal of the upper part of the lip, does very well. This is an area that is privileged in terms of healing and hiding scars.

This will vary with skin quality and healing. Any scarring can be improved with lasers and microneedling/prp. I recommend Silagen + Bioshield for 6 weeks after removal to help promote healing. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Similar to other wound healing, when a mole is removed, often the healing skin is pink or red. The color should return to normal over the next 1-2 weeks as the skin continues to heal. To minimize scarring, protect the skin from the sun. Wear sunscreen over the area whenever...
