While the CT scan itself or the contrast would effect the results of your botox, laying down within 4 hours of treatment may effect the outcome of your botox.
Thank you for your question. I think the safest thing would be to avoid lying flat for 6 hours after Botox injection in the forehead. Even though injection techniques vary greatly, the most dreaded complication is upper eyelid drooping following the injection of Botox. This complication happens rarely, but it may be troublesome to a patient when it develops. Botox injection by itself is not a contraindication to CT with or without contrast. If the patient does develop upper eyelid drooping, eye drops can be prescribed to treat this condition. Usually, drooping resolves in 3-6 weeks after Botox injection. I hope that answers your question.
Thank you foryour question getreal1234. Botox is apurified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. I recommend to my patients to avoid lying flat for 4 hours after a Botox treatment. If my patient were having a CT scan I would recommend that she wait at least 4 hours after the Botox treatment to have the scan or to have the Botox treatment at least 24 hours after the scan as sometimes people take medications that make them sleepy for such a scan. Pleaseconsult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
