I have seen implants fail in smokers more than once, it seems to be a particular problem immediately after implants are placed, while the implant is integrating with the bone. I believe any smoking should be a real concern though. Smoking has definitely been shown to cause implant problems and failures. If there is one thing to avoid with dental implants, it's smoking.
It depend of the each one... i had a lot of people thst smoking and the implants work... but really in studies the implants doesnt work in smoking people. If you will quit for a few months before and after implants i think will be very possible the implant works.

They can work fine but I advise patients honestly that the sucess rate drops from the high 90's for a healthy non smoker to the low 80's for a smoker.
hi,the health effects of smoking are well established and there are many reasons why you should stop. however realistically 2 to 3 cigarettes a day will probably not affect the implants and I'd be happy to place them if you were my patient. if you were smoking 20cigs/day it could be a different story..... best of luck.julian

If the quality of bone its good, and the site where the implant is going to be placed you can find primary stability,there is no problem .also that way you will prevent the bone not to shrink. I hope this helps.
Hi, it appears that there is extensive muscle pull on the left side in addition to the 'bumpy' bone. The denture most likely needs to be relieved but also the muscle tension needs to be adressed so that your gums dont get sore over time from use of the denture.
