Hello there,Composite bonding can be used to repair chipped teeth and is a budget friendly option. However, bonding should always be thought of as a temporary fix because it chips and stains easily. For a permanent solution, I would recommend porcelain veneers or crowns. I always recommend selecting an experienced cosmetic dentist that really knows what they are doing. The best indicator to determine if the dentist is going to give you the results that s/he claims, is by viewing before and after photos of his/her patients that have undergone similar or the same procedures. Good luck and I hope this helps. Follow me if you have more questions.Sarah Thompson, DMDSt. Louis, MO area (O'Fallon, IL)Real Self 100
Photos would certainly be helpful in this case to give you a definitive answer. That being said, porcelain veneers are typically a much more permanent approach to restoring front teeth than dental bonding. Best of luck.
Hi, thanks for write... Porcelain veneers is your best option for long long time, highly sthetic and highly strong, this process takes 2 appointments and helps to improve your smile. Regards
If your tooth is chipped i recommended you to see your dentist as soon as possible. Otherwise, your tooth could be damaged further or become infected, possibly causing you to end up losing the tooth. A permamnent solution for chipped teeth are porcelain veneers. Good luck!
its my advice to upload yr pic [ broken tooth] so i can guide u better. because before answering it is important to see how much tooth structure is present.
Dental boding on front teeth sometimes is problematic. There are many factors that make it so. 1. If on the very incisal edge of the tooth, then it is more prone to chipping through your biting forces. 2. If it is a thin amount, then can often chip off faster. 3. If you grind your teeth, you can potentially grind off your bonding. 4. If you bite hard into foods and/or eat a lot of hard foods (apples, carrots, nuts, etc) that can cause chipping / wearing faster too. We do tell our patients to be weary of the above and to alter food selections as much as possible.
