Most likely, this area of hair loss is related to a process known as telogen effluvium, which is a stress related form of hair loss. Since surgery and the details therein lead to a stress on the body, this is a well described side effect of browlift. Luckily, this hair loss usually recovers within several months and without long term alopecia.
See a hair transplant surgeon ASAP. Maybe topical and PO meds could help, PRP injections, finally hair transplants as the surgical option.
Temporary hair loss after a brow lift is not uncommon. It generally takes 3 - 6 months for this temporary condition to resolve.
This can happen after the brow lift if the tissue was under tension. The best thing would be to wait. This will improve and if not happy in six months, consider hair transplant.
What you appear to have is known as "shock loss" which can happen around incision lines especially if there is either tightness or blood flow issues. The way to approach this is first to just observe and see if the hair begins to come back over the first three months. After this and even before you may want to start a series of mild kenalog (steroid) shots dispersed about the bald area. The vast majority of patients experience almost complete regrowth of the shock loss hair.. Ultimately, if there is hair loss problems that remain permanent or visible scars you may be a candidate for hair transplantation to the bald areas which should take fine.
It appears from your picture that your brow lift was very recent. You can try the topical application of a product like Minoxidil but you must be patient for about 6 months to see if the loss is temporary. Ultimately some type of hair replacement surgery may be necessary. I've seen this before but never in one of my patients.
Oh my. I have performed many Coronal Browlifts over the past 25 + years and have never seen this degree of hair loss following a Browlift. Hair loss can happen with anesthesia, medications, stress or a combination of both. You might want to ask your plastic and cosmetic surgeon for a referral to a dermatologist for evaluation and possible topical treatment. The good news is that in most cases, the hair will grow back. The bad news is that it can take up to a year for all the follicles to do so.
There is a limit as to how much you can lower lower your hairline . The primary indication of the surgery is not lo lower your hairline. I will recommend to have and expert hair restoration expert evaluate your case.
This is a great procedure and I dont think the scar even if its bad is really an issue. If your forehead is that high maybe consider doing a classic coronal brow lift
Thank you for your question. There are many variations on the theme with this procedure, but the incision is usually in eh hair or on the hairline. Different doctors have their own style or way of being trained. The keys are the result, and the duration of benefit. I hope this helps.
The coronal brow lift is considered the gold standard. The results achieved are long lasting and effective. Some of the problems have been scarring, hair loss, widened scars and the cutting of nerves that feed the top of the head which may cause numbness. The endoscopic approach largely avoids...
Looking at your photo, you have very good symmetry between the lower third, middle third, and upper third of your face. Your chin is not too long and shortening it would have a harmful aesthetic effect. Trying to make a certain hairstyle possible with extensive surgery is not a well thought out...
