Halo laser for acne scars - how do I make sure my provider is performing a deep treatment not just surface exfoliation?

I pre-paid for 3 Halo laser treatments. I had my first 2 weeks ago & had no swelling but lots of exfoliation. My provider didn't want to go too intense with treatment, but they are costly & I want results for my acne scars & collagen production. She didn't explain much about the different levels when I asked either or confirm how deep she went. Can my results still be good without swelling? Otherwise, how do I ensure my provider performs a deeper treatment to target scars/collagen production?

Hello LM.  The question of how to perform an acne scar procedure depends on what the acne scars look like.  We treat red scars, brown scars, ice pick scars, rolling scars and boxcar scars all differently.  The options we use include deep fractional resurfacing, pulsed dye lasers, q-switched lasers, hydroquinone, subcision, dermal fillers and TCA Cross.  So, without seeing photos of your scars (see link below for ours), it's difficult to say just how we would suggest the treatment be performed.  We can say that if you have textured scars and you did not have any bleeding in the Halo procedure then you did not get a deep fractional treatment.
