What is the difference between Alexandrite and diode laser for hair removal?

Hello i would like to know if there is a difference between the diode and alexandrite lasers in terms of efficiency and safety for hair removal on face (cheeks not beard) (i am olive skin)

The Alexandrite wavelength (755nm) is best for targeting lighter to dark hairs on skin types I to III (can easily get sunburns). An Alexandrite can also be used on skin type IV (olive skin) but with a bit more conservative energy settings. The diode wavelength (810nm) works on the same category of skin types and hairs but may not be as effective for lighter hairs. Really depends on skin type as to how far the intensity can be pushed to catch those lighter hairs. Darker skin types are treated with an Nd:YAG (1064nm). Best of luck!

They both are effective for laser hair removal. Every Doctor will have their preferred laser. Laser hair removal can be done safely on the face. Keep in mind it will take a series of treatments. I typically have patients do every 4 weeks for the first 3 times and then every 4-6 weeks for 3 times after. See an expert in laser hair removal for best results. you! There are a few differences between the use of alexandrite and diode
lasers for hair removal. Diode lasers performs on a longer wavelength with
deeper penetration. Longer wavelengths help avoid skin damage superficially in
darker skin patients and performs well on coarser hair. Alexandrite operates on
a shorter wavelength, which is more effective for lighter skin types. While
both lasers perform well, and have had successful results, it is best to
consult with your laser practitioner and physician to figure out which is the
best for you. With you wanting to target just your cheeks, and taking into
consideration your olive skin tone, you may do well with Alexandrite if your
skin is light enough but in my practice I use the diode because it has great
efficiency but is safer (but still effective) in darker skin types.   I know the theory and physics to a very detailed extent and could give you more in depth technical answer if you wanted it, but this should help answer your question.  Hope that helps!
