I had lip fillers about 1.5 ml spread over 2 sessions. Also had botox for dimples in my chin as well for downward mouth corners. Now i am wondering, will a botox lip flip also help a bit against downturned mouth corners?

Answer: Botox “Lip Flip” and DAO injection for Marionette folds Dear Fantasticjuul, Thanks for sharing your photo. I understand what it is you desire but a botox “lip flip” will not accomplish it. In your photo, the lateral commissure (where the upper and lower lip join) are horizontal. It is the fold of relaxing cheek skin which creates the downward and oblique depression you are concerned of. Volume filling or Thread / Face lifting of this relaxing wave of skin are required to smooth it out. • Just at the outside edge of the corners of the mouth is a point where 8 facial muscles join called the modiolus. They create all the actions of the mouth and cheek for expression and maintaining food in the mouth. In fact, when the muscles pull outward, the modiolus creates the dimple which pulls upward exaggerating the nasolabial cheek fold. Relaxation of any of these muscles will re-adjust the pull developing such actions as “lip flip” (weakening the most inner lip muscle) or corner lift (weakening the depressor anguli oris). • As you pointed out, a fully accomplished liquid “lip flip” is performed by adding volume to the lip, increasing the edge, rebalancing the mouth muscles to pout the lips outwardly with “botox” and filler placement along the back edge of the vermillion to project the lip forward. Please consult with a talented Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Facial ENT Surgeon with minimally invasive cosmetic experience to assist you. I hope this helps. All the best.
