Can transplanted grafts be damaged by pouring water?

Hi , Thanks for your question. Dilute your shampoo if necessary. Do not pour water forcefully . Using a mug instead of direct shower is ideal. In my practice we ask our patients to come to our centre for first two hair washes to avoid complications. They can do it at home after then. 

In my opinion, the first hair wash should be done after 7 to 10 days after the procedure. This would allow the grafts to heal and the scabs to fall of own its own. My patients are suggested to come in for their first two washes to not apply excessive pressure on the grafts and scalp. However, if that isn't possible using the lather of the shampoo on the scalp, the patient is advised to gently pour water using a mug to remove the lather.

Hello. I see you asked a question some time ago about pouring water on your transport area and was wondering how you’re doing. Has your transplant been successful and are you happy with your results? I hope everything worked out for you.

It is unlikely that pouring water from a mug onto your head has damaged your grafts.  Usually after a week I allow my patients to resume normal showering; check with your surgeon to see if this is okay with him/her.

I would doubt that pouring hot water on your hair to remover the shampoo would have damaged the hair grafts
