Worth the FDL scar or is there another option? (Photos)

Question

I had TT 12/17/18. I explained to dr I wanted all skin removed as I am a weight loss patient with a loss of 130lb. I am unhappy with my current results. Spoke with dr about revision and she denied telling me she refused to do it because she didn't think the scar was worth it for me. Pretty upset about it. Do you think an FDL will be suitable to still get the excess skin showed in pics? Or is there another option? I am broke after paying this surgeon but I can't live unhappy with my results.

I generally agree that the fdl tummy tuck is usually not worth the scar.  Sometimes it is best to have a standard tummy tuck and later convert it to the fdl.    Obviously I don’t know what discussion you had with your surgeon.  On the other hand if you had the fdl don’t initially and had healing problems or a bad scar you might have thought that the fdl was a bad idea.

it is hard to tell for sure but based on your photos, it looks like you have some extra skin and fat tissue so you might need a revision surgery in order to get better results. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

and my experience with massive weight loss patients is that they want skin gone... and don't want jiggly skin post-op.  I always recommend the FDL for those patients BUT clearly show them what the scars look like and that 2 piece swimsuits will unlikely be in their future.  Well educated patients accept this 100% of the time because with weight loss, the skin the the devil.  On the other hand, your outcome is still quite good and allows for 2 piece swimsuits... what is most important to you?
