Does Finasteride (taken at 1.25mg/day) induce seperate cycles of hair shedding that are distant in time?

I'm a 25 y.o caucasian male with MPB Norwood II. I've been losing hair for 2years now. Eight months ago i started taking Finasteride (1.25mg/day). I experienced major shedding during the first 2-3 months- which according to what i've read is normal. After that, my hair started to improve and has gotten thicker than ever. Currently, im at my 8th month and shedding is recurring aggresively. Is this normal for someone taking finasteride or does it mean that I am not responsive to the treatment?

It is unlikely that finasteride is causing these symptoms, but I recommend following up with your Doctor. There are great non-invasive alternatives like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
