Cyclosporine induces "hypertrichosis" or increased hair growth and is therefore among the long list of potential hair growth promoters. In AGA, studies (see below) have not found cyclosporine to be particularly beneficial. There is certainly no data comparing topical cyclosporine to topical minoxidil / topical finasteride - and no reason to believe it should be more effective. ReferenceOral cyclosporin does not arrest progression of androgenetic alopecia.
