What causes a lisp to occur when I have gotten four front crowns ?

I got my permanent crowns in on Friday prior to that I had temporaries on which felt fine and very close to my real teeth. But my permanent ones are so big & long & protruding out. I dont know what is causing the lisp, the largeness or them sticking out. I got them shaved down a little on Monday hoping that'll help but they still look out & I have a lisp still. The doctor told me to come back in 3 days if I still dont like them. Idk what to do.

A lisp is caused by the shape of the inner surface of the crown and the clearance with the lower teeth and your tongue's muscular/speech memory and not the length of the teeth.  Since everyone has different shaped teeth and tongues and few have a lisp, it is likely your tongue will re-learn and the lisp will go away.  Give it some time.

Usually a lisp is caused by the upper front teeth being too far back or thick on the inside. the length may also be contributing to it. If you don't adjust to it within a few days, the dentist will have to reevaluate to see if they can be adjusted enough or if they should be redone which is likely

The lisp is probably caused by the bulk/shape of the new crowns.  If you still have the temporaries, perhaps they can be duplicated with new permanents.  Good luck.
