About4 years ago I was on accutane. After that I had 4 fraxel dual tretaments, 3tca 80%peels,2 pdl laser treatments for the redness.due to the high cost of all the treatments and not really visible results I thought I would never consider another treatment. However lately I’ve been reading a lot about the bellafill fillers and how much they can improve the appearance on acne scars. will bellafill work for me?how many syringes and treatments will I need. And what is the approximate cost
Answer: Acne Scarring -- Needs Combination of Subcision; Fillers Like Bellafill; Lasers Like Fraxel/Erbium/CO2; TCA Cross; Intensif RF Thank you for your question! Acne scars need a combination approach for long-term improvement. Everyone has a unique pattern of acne scarring, and most people have various types of scars, so we create a tailored treatment plan for each patient. We often use:- Injectable fillers like Bellafill and Sculptra (with or without subcision) for atrophic, indented scars. - Subcision for depressed, tethered scars. - Vascular lasers like Yellow laser, Aerolase, excel V, or IPL for redness or thick acne scars. - Lasers such as Fraxel, Erbium, CO2 or fractional radiofrequency (Venus Viva, Skinfinity, Intensif microneedling RF) for textural issues and superficial scarring. - TCA CROSS and punch excision for deep ice pick scars and narrow box car scars. All lasers are combined with microneedling/PRP to improve the results and accelerate your healing time. Keep in mind that a personalized combination treatment by an expert physician will give you the improvement you're looking for. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Expertise in Bellafill complications and granulomas Bellafill and Artefill are known to cause granulomas. Although used for soft tissue augmentation, they can, and are known to cause permanent nodules and swelling. This is not the case for everyone. My office specializes in the removal of Bellafill and Artefill injections, in addition to silicone biopolymers, from the face and body. Initially, treatments are non-surgical with corticosteroids and immune modulators. If unable to be corrected, we can also perform surgery in some cases. Lastly, our office is conducting ongoing studies of plasma-assisted corticosteroid application, which allows for diffusion of the treatment medication in superficial tissue without causing atrophy. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Bellafil for acne scars? Hello Bonero. Although you may benefit from filler injections for your scars, we do not like Bellafil for your situation. Your scars are deep with very sharp edges. Fillers cannot soften the edges of the scar, that's best for fractional resurfacing. If you inject bellafil, it will lift up the skin under the scar, but the pitted scar appearance will likely remain the same, just now higher. In addition, Bellafil is considered a permanent filler to if anything goes wrong, you would like have to have it surgically removed.

Answer: Acne Scar Treatment Hello there- yes, I believe Bellafill might work for your scars. This is because Bellafill can be used as a bio stimulant, creating "mass" where it may otherwise not be (aka acne scars). Hope this helps!

Answer: Bellafill for Acne Scars While Bellafill is approved for the treatment of acne scars, not all acne scars are the same. If you have a few isolated acne scars that lift well at their base, a filler such as Bellafill can work. Most patients, however, have numerous acne scars of varying depth, shape and scarring at their base. In my practice, the Infini RF has been very successful in the treatment of diffuse acne scars such as yours. Upon completion of treatments, if there is an isolated acne scar that requires further treatment, a decision is then made as to whether injectable filler and/or surgical excision would be beneficial. However, this latter approach is typically more suitable for isolated or a few scattered acne scars rather than multiple diffuse scars such as yours.
