Throbbing pain in morning after temporary crown

I had a temporary crown put on 4 days ago. The initial pain subsided but it is throbbing first thing in the morning and waking me up at night. Could the bite being too high cause this?

Hi, Shevan. The throbbing in the morning might mean that you are clenching on the temporary at night. My question does the bite feel high (ie. tooth touching your temporary before you hit your other teeth)? If so, then your bite is high with the temporary and you need to have it adjusted by your dentist. Never get used to the bite even if it is a temporary. You don't mention temperature sensitivity so it most likely is the bite.

Hi:Definitely the first thing that has to be checked is the bite and there might also be some pain due to trauma of the dental work.  Please contact your dentist right away and have him/her check the bite.Best,Dr. Maddahi
