Dear, TMSTITES72, Thank you for your question regarding correction of labial distortion after a thigh lift. You mention you had your medial thigh lift on October 23, 2017. At the time of that writing, I believe you said you were only three weeks post-op. Hopefully, by the time this post meets you, you will have been healed and more mobile. Thigh lifts can cause labial distortion. The crescent medial thigh lift has the highest chance of causing labial distortion. Labia distortion can occur when too much skin is removed from the medial or inner thigh lift, labial distortion can also occur in the inner thigh is not anchored to periosteum or surrounding pelvic fascia. As the medial thigh contracts and heals, it can drag the labia outward and downward. Therefore, this inner thigh must be correctly anchored to the underlying immobile tissue. Before you can start a labia revision, I would wait until you are at least four months rom your thigh lift. If you can wait even longer, that would be better. However, if you continue to have labia distortion even four to six months after your thigh lift, I would consider surgical revision. Typically, this entails removing scar tissue in the inner thigh and reattaching the medial thigh to peri-periosteum. Before any revision surgery is contemplated, I would suggest aggressive physical activity. You may even need sessions with a physical therapist or a massage therapist to break up medial thigh scar tissue. Thank you for your question regarding labial distortion caused by a high lift. When considering a medial thigh lift or any type of thigh lift, seek an experienced, plastic surgeon who has performed hundreds of thigh lifts during their career. If you cannot find an experienced plastic surgeon in your neighborhood, please consider traveling to another state. Good luck!
