Is this neck trauma normal 2 years after a neck lift? Is there a procedure to help reduce this? (photos)

I had a lower Face and neck lift 2yrs ago. I cannot go out without heavy concealer due to the extreme neck and partial face trama. It looks like I have been strangled with the redness and dark bruise areas. My surgeon said its normal and will go away. It has not changed after two years. It there a procedure to help reduce this?

Hello. Thank you for your question. You may have a couple of sutures starting to poke through that your surgeon could remove. It may be worthwhile seeing a cosmetic dermatologist who has interest in laser treatments. These can be helpful with redness of the skin and some of the other changes that have developed in your neck. Further surgery will not help the skin although it may be able to lessen the prominence of the vertical platysmal bands.

In my Real Self opinion you need revision full open neck lift to smooth out the skin issues. Expect fees in the $10,000+ ranges.
