I typically use and remove vicryl sutures in 3-4 weeks post op grafting or implant placement.
You should remove silk sutures usually by 7 days if those were used.
As long as your tissue has healed and the site is protected by gingiva, that's the goal.
Your dentist feels this is OK for you and may be just fine.  Keep things clean for best results.

Stitches typically are removed 7 to 10 days following surgery and depends upon the degree of healing. 7 days is often long enough. Leaving stitches in too long can become problematic as bacteria can penetrate beneath the gums through the stitch holes. When to take them out is a judgement call always left up to the surgeon.
