After stopping finasteride and minoxidil my hair is starting fall again and gone. Should I back to the finasteride again?

I have Benn taking finesteride around 6 months and I have stopped finesteride for last 5 month . After stopping finesteride and minoxidil my haired starting fall again . Should I back to the finesteride again ??

Minoxidil and finasteride help to stopping hair loss and thickening of hair  . But ıf you stop to use minox and finasteride after a long time usage, you may experience a fast thinning, even loss of hair because of ending action of active ingredient. That phenomena leads people to a misconception that minoxidil and finasteride causes hair loss after  stopping to use it. So you should better to back to treatment to gain hair back  again .

Absolutely, I tell my patients that if the medications are working in their cases they should continue them for long, long period of time... Also, it is important to know the reason you stopped the medications and I probably will suggest you to see the hair loss specialist that prescribed them to you. If the reason is related to side effects then I recommend to reduce the dosage and alternative days (Finasteride).

In general terms, yes, it is recommended to again restart taking Finasteride, and if possible, also use Minoxidil. They complement each other. Be sure you get evaluated to make sure your hairloss is not caused by other causes that require a different treatment (for example, thyroid problems, or alopecia areata, etc). You have a good chance of seeing improvement, but be patient and consistent, visible results might take 9-12 months of daily use to be seen. Also, check out PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), a procedure involving scalp injections, usually under local anesthesia, of your own platelets, in high concentration, to stimulate new hair growth, with increased hair thickness and decreased loss. It is your own plasma and platelets, so has no reactions/side effects, and requires minimal or no down time.

All medical treatments for male balding are life long. These are not short term treatments. If an individual decides to start minoxidil or finasteride they are committing to life long use.
