Retin-A for 1 week - Can I discontinue?

I Hve been using retin a cream fr a week and i am experiencing too much of dryness and redness and irrated with my skin. I Hve stopped using it frm past 3 days. I wish i quit retino and go back to the old skin care routine pls help me out!

If you are using retinoid creams, you may experience dryness and irritation that is commonly referred to as the ‘retinoid reaction.’ In our office, we recommend Elevase Moisture Booster to help reduce the dryness and to improve the skin’s natural moisture barrier function. Thank you for your question. From what you are describing, it sounds like you are experiencing side effects of Retin-A. For some individuals, using Retin-A daily can be too aggressive causing redness, dryness, and irritation, so in my experience, decreasing Retin-A to every other night or every 2 nights helps minimize the side effects. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated and to discuss treatment options that best suit your needs. Take care and good luck.
