My cheeks and in front of ears are fuller/ bigger from facelift, so much so that wearing glasses leaves a big indentation. Also my ears are lower. I am 6 weeks post op when most swelling should be resolved. Is this normal? It is not attractive at all.

Answer: A year for swelling to subside after facelift Swelling can take up to a year to subside. During this time, you should restrict sodium intake and sleep on your back as much as possible. Lymphatic massage can also help. As for swelling to be 100% gone, this really depends on the extent of surgery and your recovery rate. Once the majority of swelling goes away, residual swelling subsides very gradually and most patients don't notice when it's totally gone because it's so gradual. This can take about a year.

Answer: Normal Swelling Thank you for your question. Congratulations on a very nice result. You certainly still have swelling of your face at 6 weeks. It can persist for up to about 6 months but each month will be better. Best wishes on your recovery
