Will using Upneeq regularly have an impact on my vision over time?

Question

Will using Upneeq regularly eventually lead to worsening vision? I have worn glasses and contacts all my life and recently started Upneeq. I am wondering if using this product will impact my vision or possibly contribute to making it worse?

Upneeq should not lead to worsening vision. It is recommended that when wearing contacts, you take the contacts out prior to using Upneeq and waiting 15 minutes after applying Upneeq to put them back in. It is important to not let the tip of the vial touch your eye or any other surface, for sanitary reasons. Vials should also not be re-used after opening and should be thrown away after applying drops. These safe practices will ensure a healthy eye.

Upneeq has been shown to be safe for longterm, daily use. It works by activating the alpha adrenergic receptors in the muscles of the upper eyelid. It has no expected impact on the cornea, lens, or deeper structures of the eye related to visual acuity. The most common reactions with are eye inflammation, eye redness, and dry eye. If you have these symptoms, consider stopping. You should also avoid using these drops if you have glaucoma. 
Lastly, you should use caution if you're taking beta-blockers, or other medications to treat hypertension or an abnormal heartbeat, or a certain class of antidepressant medication (monoamine oxidase inhibitors), as it may theoretically affect the way your body absorbs the medication.
