Can you use gua sha technique on your forehead and 11 lines after receiving Botox in those areas?

The neuromodulators Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin all settle into the muscles shortly after injection. After an hour, as long as you’re not swollen or sore from the injections, you can treat your forehead normally. Massage is OK, exercise is OK, and so is gua sha. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert injector whenever you receive neuromodulators.

On the other hand, there is also no evidence that it will be beneficial either.  Be aware there are many techniques that might feel good but have little evidence of being effecting regarding claims of long term benefit.  Botox is effect and there is also no evidence that this method would have any material impact on the treatment including shortening its duration.

There is not a significant amount of data on gua sha in the medical literature but the mechanical skin injury to stimulate your innate healing process is similar to other common cosmetic procedures such as microneedling, dermabrasion, and laser. Several hours after injections, these procedures should not have any adverse effect on the Botox itself. 

 Botox usually only takes a few minutes to settle itself into your muscles. The effects start becoming evident a few days later. However, the injections may make your skin tender and possibly even swollen. Gua sha sounds a bit rough to me. I’d prefer you wait a few days before trying it after Botox. A board-certified dermatologist will get you the best results from Botox and also be able to help you with any follow-up questions you have.

Hi, The Gua Sha Technique takes Eastern Medicine practice into current times - it is supposed to aid in lympahtic drainage and bring back the 'glow'. There may be two issues here - the Botox injection and the resulting increased blood flow and cellular metabolism.
