Bad Hypertrophic Scars of Liposuction Incisions? (photo)

     Did the incisions open?   They look very wide.  I would have thought they would have been better after revision.  However, scars on the arms and legs generally do not heal as well as scars on the abdomen.   The pictures are difficult to evaluate, and I do not see pictures of the abdomen.  If you are concerned that there is a need for fat grafting, this is typically performed with very small fat grafting cannulae.   Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. The scars in the photograph are unsightly but the wounds are still healing. Nevertheless, I'm not sure I've ever seen scars this angry after liposuction or access is done through a very small poke hole.
