What types of heat should a patient avoid post rhinoplasty to enable quick reduction in swelling (warm food, weather, others?). Please give examples so it becomes clear

Extremely hot weather should be avoided. You can take advantage of multivitamins and detox drinks for quick relief of edema.

It's essential to avoid sun exposure for the first 3 months after your rhinoplasty surgery as you continue to heal. We recommend you ignore tanning beds for 12 months. Heat causes blood vessels to dilate which causes more swelling. Exposing your nose to the sun and excess heat will increase your inflammation and scarring. Moderate exercise like walk\ing increases blood flow which will help your swelling to lessen. Keep your body hydrated by drinking lots of water as it helps with swelling as well. Reduce your salt intake. Pineapple has an enzyme called Bromoline which helps to reduce fluid retention and accelerates the healing process. Hope this helps.

After rhinoplasty your nasal skin will be numb for several weeks. I don’t think it’s a good idea to apply heat to numb skin because it could cause a burn without you knowing. But ask your surgeon for their particular advice

Heat post rhinoplasty : I would not go into a sauna postoperatively. But eating warm or hot food should have little or no impact. Being in normally warm weather should also have minimal impact, so the normal variations in temperate climates should be of little to no significance.
