Started taking oral Minoxidil .25mg 4 months ago to no success - lost more hair than when I first started. Advice?

Upped the dosage to .5mg - two weeks ago and noticed i have lost even more hair, is this normal to shed more after increasing oral minoxidil? I am also on finestride 1.25mg daily been on this for 3 years, honestly seems to be getting worse and worse as each week goes by,

I agree with Dr. Donovan that you need to see a hair loss expert. They will determine if the hair bleaching has damaged the scalp,  your hair is breaking or there is another etiology. Treatment for each of these causes differs.

I'm 19 and want to start taking Finasteride to combat receding hairline but I don't know if this would be the best option.

In  my opinion, finasteride is the single best agent to prevent future hair loss and possibly obtain regrowth in a 19 year old with androgenic alopecia. It blocks conversion to DHT. We have also found the addition of PRP to be a helpful addition. Find a hair loss expert. Ask to see photos.
