Random breast swelling 10 years post implants. Advice?

Question

I'm experiencing swelling of both breasts. 1 week before my period (I am on the pill) and lasts for 3-5 days. The swelling can occur in both Slight amount of pain, feels like the muscles are very tight. Pain comes from under my arms and the inner side. No nipple changes I have been to 3 drs but get referred to plastic surgeon. An MRI showed the implants are intact and look ok. The 2 plastic surgeons in town are hard to get into. Implants are 10 years old, teardrop, silicon & under the muscle

Hi. Thanks for posting your questions.
It sounds like your breast swelling may be hormone related, given they occur in relation to your menstrual cycle. You have done the right thing in getting it assessed with an MRI, and making arrangement to see a plastic surgeon.
One thing which has come to light in recent years is the awareness of ALCL (anaplastic large cell lymphoma). This is a breast-implant related cancer, and one of the signs of this condition is fluid collection and swelling in the affected breast, although the swelling doesn't come and go and is usually one-sided.
