I have about a 1.75-2mm gap in my 2 front teeth. I've always been self conscious of it so i would like to get rid of it for as cheap as possible. I've been looking at bonding and this seems a great option. Is my gap small enough for this? ROUGHLY, how much would i be looking at? How strong is the composite material and does it stain? How often does it need to be replaced? If anyone could answer these questions i'd greatly appreciate it. So yeah, would bonding be suitable for this? Thanks guys!
Answer: Bonding to fix a 2 mm gap Ideally you want to have then about 1 mm of bonding added to each of the central incisors so they stay symmetrical. From looking at the picture, I do not think adding on with bonding will cause the teeth to look too wide. The nice thing about the bonding is that it is relatively inexpensive, quick and painless. The cost per tooth may be around $200+ just depending on your location. The down side to bonding is that it can stain or discolor over time and require replacement, this depends on how well you take care of them and your dietary habits. Replacement is still relatively quick and painless, but needed over time. You could also elect to have porcelain veneers or crowns to close the space which would not stain and look nicer for a lot longer, but this is also a more costly option. If you are looking into long term solutions for this, you may want to be evaluated by an orthodontist for braces/Invisalign. This would be something you could maintain and benefit from for much longer.

Answer: Bonding for Gap Bonding is the way to go if you want it done in one visit, for a few hundred dollars. Bonding is a permanent material but it will probably need to be redone at some point. How long it will last is really just a guess. I always like to use the most conservative option possible, which in this case would be orthodontics. This takes longer and you'll need some form of retainer to keep the gap closed. I’d talk to an orthodontist as well and see what they think.

Answer: Gap-itis That looks like a good case for bonding to correct the gap. Expect to get about 5 years use before color-changes may require replacement. Use home whitening such as Crest Whitestrips to keep teeth from changing color as fast (They do as we get older).

Answer: Bombers It is possible to close the space between your front teeth with bonding. It will make your front teeth appear a bit wider but I think it will not be overly noticeable. The cost varies with the part of the country you are in. The durability depends on who does it and how well you take care of them. They can work quite well if they are done properly and you use care when eating and use proper oral hygiene. Find a good cosmetic dentist to help you out and I am sure you will be happy with the result. Good luck!
