What age would be upper limit for getting a sleeve done?

This is a very commun question asked by our patient and everyday people with similar ages comes to bariatric surgery. The age range is between 18 to 65 years old but is enought evidence with bariatric surgery in younger groups including adolescents with more psiquiatric or psicology follw up and patients up to 75 years.Like all the important is that you go to a certified bariatric surgeon and have all the pre ops and labs like cardiology, pneumology, nutrition, psiquiatric, anesthesia, surgeon and other as required.You can get your goal with the surgery and you will be very happy and healthy.Good luck in this journey.God bless you.Bye bye 

We do not have an arbitrary age  that when a patient is beyond it, they can't have surgery. It makes no sense to have a cut-off age. Every patient is an individual and their unique surgical risks need to be evaluated carefully and individually. We have done gastric bypass operations on patients in their 80's. And there are patient's who are much younger who we would not want to operate on. Basically, if you are healthy enough to have laparoscopic gall bladder surgery, then you could tolerate sleeve gastrectomy.
