Red spots/hyper-pigmentation in tan areas after laser hair removal. Is there anything I can do to prevent hyperpigmentation?

Some areas have these pretty big red/brown spots and it's been only 20 hours since the treatment. All other areas (legs, underarms, non-tan areas which were treated 20 hours ago ) do not have any redness. Is there anything I can do now to prevent hyper-pigmentation and any permanent damage besides sunscreen if I'm outside? Should I be applying aloe, lemon, anything else? FYI, i had laser hair removal and this is the first reaction like this in years.
