What qualifications should I look for to do cosmetic mole removal surgery?

I've found facial plastic surgeons that are board certified by the ABOHNS and/or ABFPRS (which one is better?) and board certified dermatologists that can do the job with good before and afters. However, consultation prices for some of them are high and I can't afford to do much shopping around. I'm wondering what are the most important qualifications a doctor should have for removing a ~3mm slightly raised dark mole on the cheek in an aesthetic way.

Most facial moles are excised and have the edges dermabraded initially and maybe 3 months later as well.  Usually the Derm Surgeons are the best at those procedures but facial plastics and general plastic guys can also do it.  Your doc should be cosmetically oriented in his/her practice as their specialty.

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Moles can be removed with laser, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
