I wore my compression garment 24/7 for the first 4 days. Then I only took it off to shower days 5&6. After that I cold not sleep in it. I wore it most of the day or the next week while I office at home. Now I am only able to wear it a few hours during the day. I’m nervous...I still see a lot of puffiness under my chin. I am massaging it.
Answer: Swelling 3.5 weeks after lipo is normal It is too early to worry! It has just been 3.5 weeks which is really nothing after a liposuction. I have seen this many times and would almost say it is a normal look after your combined surgery (necklift with lipo). You are obviously still swollen. It could be worse. However, I would advise you to wear the pressure garment during the night when you sleep until the swelling has subsided and you have the contour of your neck your surgeon and you were aiming for. For the swelling to be fully gone it can take up to 12 weeks and longer. The garment will keep pressure on the skin to 'remind' it to tighten and adapt to the new and defined contour of your neck. The skin can tighten over the first 6 months. I know it is difficult but be a patient!

Answer: Neck Lift Thank you for your question. I suggest that you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss your recommended recovery process. At a few weeks post-op, you are still very early in your healing process. Best wishes,

Answer: Had a neck lift with lipo 3.5 weeks ago. Compression garment question Helo Caitlyn213,Isolated liposuction for the right patient can do an excellent job improving the appearance of the neck. The younger the patient the more effective, because younger patients' skin is more elastic and can better contract after the procedure. However, liposuction alone is not the same as a neck lift. Having said all of this, you are also only 3 weeks out. This means you still have swelling present. Because of this, it would still be expected that you would get an improvement. I would reocmmend you follow up with your surgeon to express your concerns. I hope this helps and good luck.

Answer: Neck lift with lipo 3 weeks ago Wearing a compression dressing is not critical in keeping the neck area smooth and tight. It is a helpful tool in the post surgical period. At 3 weeks, you still have a lot of swelling and the neck is likely to improve over the next 2-3 months. If at 6 months you still have loose skin or lumpiness under the chin, then there may be reason to be concerned.
