I got a root canal on second moral and wondering how long can I get away with not getting a crown? Can I get the crown after 6 months?
Answer: Crown after root canal Hi: When a root canal is done the tooth becomes dry and brittle. Without a crown to protect it you can always crack the tooth while eating. It’s best to get a crown as soon as possible. Best, Dr. Maddahi

Answer: Is a crown necessary after a root canal? Thank you very much for your great question. Molars, the teeth in the back of the mouth, receive the most amount of stress and prone to breakage the most. Root canal is the a great way to save your tooth. It needs to be protected though by placing a crown over it. Think about this this way. A live tree is very strong due to the nourishment it receives through it's roots. A dry tree is a lot weaker. It will stand there unless a very strong wind will blow it down due to its force. A tooth without a nerve is just like that dry tree.Research shows that the most optimal time to get a crown after a root canal therapy is within 1-2 weeks.
