Any long term damage can be caused if the crown is not fitted correctly?

Replacing a missing tooth with an implant could be costly. However, the cost of replacing a tooth should not be the only factor in choosing a dentist. An ill fitting crown on an implant can fail and can damage the implant. It can also cause your other teeth to shift, bone loss, even TMD which can cost you more in the long run.

It is a bad decision to choose a restorative dentist based on cost. Implant crowns can have more problems with them if they don't fit. The problems can be as dire as the implant fracturing, failing, or screws fracturing off in the implant. You have made a significant investment in time and money having the implant placed and waiting for it to heal. Don't set yourself up for failure when you are so close to being done.

A poorly fitted implant crown can cause gum problems, bone loss and bite dysfunction.  Damage may not be reversible.  If you needed heart surgery would you look for the cheapest surgeon or the best? In the long run you will get your best value by going to an experienced implant dentist for your crown.

I am a firm believer in the saying "you get what you pay for".  If work is done that is significantly less expensive than the competition one has to wonder if they are decreasing the quality of the work to achieve such a low fee.  The status of implants can be greatly effected by the quality of care of the crown placed on the implant to the point that it can cause the implant to be fail.  I would highly recommend you find a dentist that is reasonably priced but certainly not the least expensive.  Your mouth deserves it.  Good luck!
