My Essex retainer has #7 tooth on it awaiting for my implant.Can I eat with my Essex in or should I remive it to eat?

Should you eat with an essix appliance?  I always tell them not to eat with it.  I also discuss that I know they will eat with it in public or when they are out with friends.  I just want them to be aware of it and make good choices.  They can and will break if abused.  Usually they are pretty resilient.Just be aware of what it is,( a temporary) and why it is there and make appropriate choice if you decide to eat with it.  Just know it may break.Good luck and If I can answer any more questions please just let me know.Thank you Brett Silverman DDS, MAGD

It depends on what you are eating.  If you eat carefully you should be okay but these retainers are fragile and you can easily break the tooth off.  Just a word of caution.  Good luck!
