Had approximately 15-20 on treatments on the forearm. There is hyper and hypopigmentation and well as a couple of raised areas that don't seem to blend with the surrounding skin. I've tried many things such as Silicon Scar Sheets, Chemical Peels, and Retin-A. All have helped, but the hypo-pigmentation seems to be the main issue.*Update - photos added on 5/22/17
Answer: Laser & PRP Thank you for the pictures and before answering your question, please see a dermatologist or a physician specializing in lasers to establish the best treatment plan for you. PRP would be an added benefit which may require six treatments. Best wishes

Answer: Discoloration, Scarring following laser tattoo removal Hello,These negative side effects may occur with even the Picosure laser as settings, technique, and skill are equally important as technology. Hypopigmentation and textural changes of the skin usually indicate an overly aggressive treatment approach. Whereas, hyperpigmentation (red/brown) is more easily corrected with gentle QYAG laser treatments and hydroquinone for brown and Pulsed Dye Laser for persistent red/pink.Being that you are seeing more of an issue with hypopigmentation, we believe that this condition may correct itself if given time and UV protection at all times. If not improving after six months, we have used of deep fractioned laser with promising benefits for this condition. The theory is that the laser encourages melanocyte production and/or bringing neighboring melanocytes to the affected area. We also believe that using heat (lasers) is a better option for this end goal vs. microneedling and PRP.Regardless of your treatment plan, be diligent with sunscreen use.

Answer: Improving Hypopigmented Scar with Lasers, microneedling/prp This is difficult to answer without pictures. Hypopigmentation can be improved with lasers and microneedling. I would combine with prp to improve outcomes. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Hypopigmentation after laser tattoo removal Yes, hypopigmentation can be improved with fraxel and/or microneedling+prp. You will likely need a series of treatments to see the desired results. Consult with board-certified and experienced physician.

Answer: Improving scarring from laser tattoo removal Both Fraxel and microneedling will improve the scar. Hypopigmentation is a tough one to fix. I also use the Infini for scars. Adding PRP has helped in some cases of hypopigmentation in my practice. Fraxel will be more aggressive and will have better results than microneedling (also more expensive).
