I'm interested in trying finasteride to help with my thinning hair on the top of my head. I am not clear on if it will help to regrow the hair that I've lost or thicken the hair I have or if it will only just prevent me losing additional hair in the balding areas.

Early balding is best determined with an instrument called HAIRCHECK which measures the loss of hair bulk in different parts of the scalp and shows hair loss before you can see it with the naked eye
